Ina Watson - back in Sri Lanka for a purpose

Ina Watson with Paul, Abi and Hannah finished mission partner service in Sri Lanka just over a year ago - but now she is back! Ina is part the way through a 3 week visit sponsored by CMS. She has been conducting a trauma counselling course for the Diocese of Colombo for over 30 trainees from different parts of the island including a group from war ravaged Jaffna and some who themselves have recently come out of camps for internally displaced people. The course is a key intervention of the Diocese to respond to the trauma caused to many thousands by the 25 year civil war that ended in mid 2009 with the defeat of the Tamil Tigers by the Sri Lankan military. Several on this course will go on to further training and a core gorup will also be formed to continue to implemwnt the strategy of Colombo Diocese to meet the needs of those traumatised and facing loss due to the war. The course has now finished and this week Ina has gone up to Kandy to do some teaching on the counselling diploma course of Theological College of Lanka where she also taught during her time as a mission partner. Pray for Ina's remaining time and for those trained that they may use their new knowledge to serve others with compassion and wisdom.
