TallSkinnyKiwi and the Turkey Earthquake

From the TallSkinnyKiwi in Turkey (24/10/11)

you probably heard about the 7.2 earthquake in Turkey. 1000 feared dead. Many missing. terrible situation.
we are in Turkey and are assembling a team of volunteers to take into the earthquake affected area.
its a 2 day drive from here and we hope to leave tomorrow. I will leave my family here in AntalyaI am contacting the Red Crescent to coordinate efforts and see exactly how we can assist.
I have the capacity to carry 6-7 tons of aid (canned food, blankets, etc) into Van and the other areas
I can also pick up people and transport them to the earthquake zone if necessary
Just need to load up and get moving  so . . .

today we are loading up our truck with blankets and clothing in the antalya area and will start the 1400 km drive to Van today. Working with Kurds and perhaps some churches. Biggest need is diesel money. I can use my own but will run out eventually.
