The Revd Marc Billimoria ( Diocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka) says:
"The Diocese of Colombo lost the services of a wonderful woman of God today with the passing of the Revd Malini Devananda, one of the first three Anglican women priests in Sri Lanka who was installed Honorary Canon of the Cathedral in Colombo, to the Stall of Candlemas on 2nd February this year. She laboured in Christ for the rights of women and place of children in the Church. May she rest in peace and rise in glory."
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2:1-2
